Teledentistry - Schools, Primary Care-Based Oral Health Providers and Dental Practices

Summary

MCD Global Health is soliciting Maine-based schools, primary care-based oral health providers, dental practices, and other eligible oral-health organizations to expand access to oral health expertise through asynchronous provider-to-provider teledentistry. The initiative connects school-based and primary care oral-health providers with licensed dental professionals for timely consultation and clinical guidance.

Eligibility

Applicants must be legally operating in Maine; have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) or evidence that the UEI registration process has begun; follow applicable Maine DHHS universal eligibility guidance; be an existing licensed dental practice, dental provider organization, or oral health program with demonstrated experience delivering direct clinical dental services in Maine before application; use appropriately licensed, certified, credentialed, and/or enrolled professionals consistent with Maine law, payer requirements, and applicable scopes of practice; be enrolled with MaineCare; and actively serve MaineCare patients.

Requirements Checklist

• Funded applicants will integrate asynchronous provider-to-provider teledentistry into school-based, primary-care, or community oral-health workflows. The project should support timely dental consultation and clinical guidance, referral and care coordination, compliant documentation, onboarding and training, reporting, monitoring, evaluation, and quality improvement. Applicants must comply with applicable MaineCare, privacy, security, licensing, and state and federal requirements. Anticipated funded amount: $15,000 per award. Award type: fixed amount award, with payments based on agreed deliverables and milestones. Application briefing: October 13, 2026, 2:30–3:30 PM. Performance period begins after full execution and ends no later than August 31, 2027.
